International investors have a presence in the north of Spain mainly in the larger retail commercial centres which have flourished in recent years as they have done throughout mainland Spain.

The opportunities for the smaller investor do exist but historically yields have not proved to be particualrly attractive. As in other parts of europe the international retail chains have increased their presence in the north and there is undoubtedly an increase in investor activity in the retail sectors.

Office and industrial investment is mainly confined to the national market, but not exclusively, and many transactions in the booming industrial sector are carried out on a owner occupier basis.
